In the new building for the Clinic am Plattenwald, the architects’ interior design scheme has no colour coding to correspond to individual building segments or specialist units because the structure is compact. The interior design colour scheme reflects a holistic approach to design. For this reason, the signage concept incorporates a reduced colour scheme derived from the design language of the clinic; it indicates distinctions with gold for the route towards a destination and burgundy for the foil inscriptions. With the foil’s metallic effect, the colours create a third dimension. Burgundy provides optimum legibility for the visually impaired and picks up the colour used in the architectural concept as a focal point in the foyer and seating. This creates a very elegant and soothing clinic atmosphere. The wayfinding information is applied to glass surfaces as cut foils in corresponding dimensions and designs.
